Hello everyone! My name is DJ! I'm a new person here with a shiny new OC who goes by Cain! Although in the Pines he's gonna have a more regular name, I promise, and that name is Roman Fletcher.

Long story short: Cain is actually Romulus who is actually immortal and perpetually 24. His brother, Abel (aka Remus) is a ghost cop killing machine and that's a whole bag o' problems on its own that he's dealing with. Kinda. He's trying, okay? Anyway, he's a cool dude who doesn't afraid of anything, is kind of a huge dick if he doesn't care about you but will go to the end of the goddamn earth if he likes you (whether you want him to or not).

One of his biggest talents is the ability to see when people die! Cool, innit? Not really but hey. We all have our faults.

Within the ~game memories lore~, I imagine Cain has just kind of been that dude that's always been around, Roman Fletcher. Maybe he babysat you when you were a kid? Ran a substitute history class? Fills in shifts at the grocery and then you see him two hours later making mail deliveries? The fact that he's always the same age no matter when you remember meeting him is kinda weird... or is it??? Whatever. IT IS HOW IT IS. Accept it.

Also he needs a lot of family and friends and look he just collects people to take care of okok. He's a dad elemental, you get used to it.

My name's Karen and I am brand new to the game, so thank you for having me! I bring with me John Blake from The Dark Knight Rises, a character I am thrilled to throw into this game.

As of now, my goal is for Blake to be some kind of cop/detective/private detective/bondsman because I think that's more convenient for weaving all his memories together. In his canon he was both a cop and a detective, as well as next in line to take up the mantle of the Batman. I'm not sure how much that'll come up, but for the time being I am going to avoid it until someone requests we dabble in those memories. \o

i come bearing peter nureyev from the penumbra podcast, a bi-weekly radio show that takes place (currently) on the grandest railway this side of nowhere. peter is a thief, a ho for danger and shiny objects, and sort of the homme fatale to juno steel's hardboiled private eye in this modern-take on the classic noir. he's traveled the galaxy for roughly twenty years under different aliases and has yet to find himself trapped somewhere he can't make some grand escape from (until now.)

peter's coming into pines knowing that he shouldn't go around introducing himself by his real name (though he doesn't know why haha that'll be fun) so he's going to be utilizing the false identity of pierce steel, a motor-mouthed archivist and historian who happens to be married to a very surly lady by the name of, u guessed it, juno steel (hopefully our dear detective remembers how to play along). so yeah. enjoy not knowing his real name and also wow how long am i gonna be able to pull this off for /laughs nervously.

I'm here with Juno Steel, from The Penumbra Podcast - which Justine summed up rly well - radio show, everyone should give it a listen, etc. Juno is a surly detective, and he's from Mars! Not that he remembers this currently. Thanks to scrambled memories and a lot of #ruthlessemotions ( thx mods ), he's going to be playing along with his castmate's ruse. The marriage ruse. That ruse. Marriage is a prison from which he can never escape, kind of like this town. Maybe they can get sweet, sweet tax breaks. Pines has taxes, right?

Hello one, hello all! My name is V., and together this fella -- Dirk Gently (né Svlad Cjelli, alias Project Icarus) from the recent Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency BBCA series -- here I am, climbing in yo' window.

Dirk is, as the title of the show implies, a holistic detective. Please ask him what the hell that means; he loves giving the spiel. What it doesn't entail is psychic ability, which is for the best. If Dirk is a psychic, which he unequivocally is not, thank you, then he's a pretty terrible one. It's entirely possible, though, that he is something, and that something might look an awful lot like a psychic if you squint. Certainly he's an absolute ray of sunshine, if the sun shone largely because it was terrified of doing anything but. His is a fun little canon, full of mystery, intrigue, corgis, kittens, sharks, rhinoceroses, and great gobs of murder. It's great, wholly encourage watching it so I don't have to try to explain it to you.

I'd love for him to eventually continue tentatively plying his trade here -- finding the whole person, the whole solution to the whole problem (lost cats and messy divorces a specialty) -- but I'm also intending to give him a job assisting at the herb shop, where sharp-eyed characters may also notice, in keeping with the shop's general aesthetic, that fortune telling is now on offer, a trade Dirk plys (or resigns himself to, more accurately) when cash is particularly tight. He's awful at it, generally deliberately, and yet his predictions are wont to be bizarrely accurate (much to his chagrin), if usually absolutely useless.

Regarding false memories, I hadn't dug too far in there yet, but I'm happy to hash things out! Blanket permission is granted to anyone who wants their character to remember having met him as a child, and to know him therefore as Svlad, as he hates the name and I enjoy tormenting him.

Hello, I'm hanshi and I'll be bringing Henry into the pines. He's a lightsaber-wielding assassin from a Suda51 video game called No More Heroes. Without any of his memory of being an actual murderer, he comes off as a pretty normal dude, if a bit odd in his reactions to extreme situations. Perhaps he finds staring down death a little too enjoyable, or literally has no fear of heights, but overall can be passed over for a smartly dressed gentleman with an odd-sounding Irish accent.

As for his suspicions about the town, he is all about investigating and sating his curiosity. Information is power, especially when you're basically an undercover murderer, so that's something he'll strive to collect even if it's all subconsciously at first. To him, he rationalizes this need to know as an insatiable curiosity and wanting to be well-informed of a strange situation.

I have a permissions post with mentions to his fourth-walling situation. He is a big sci-fi geek, and while the game has a lot of Star Wars references, the franchise itself isn't mentioned anywhere. It's likely to be an alt-version of it. Either way, it's there! I can also be reached via

Hello hello Pines! I bring you this tiny ray of sunshine Iris Amicitia! From the FFXV game. Iris is Gladiolus’s brother, so she was raised in a family of warriors who put their duty and loyalty before everything else, and it shows. She’s always trained very hard and has had a safety net around her so she’s basically unafraid of most things and will jump into battle without giving it much thought if she has to. And she’s always determined to keep a happy attitude and an optimistic view in life.

I don't have very specific plans for her yet, she's simply going to get a lay of the land and do some tourism (she LOVES getting to know new places and investigating a bit). She's a curious girl so she will probably end up sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. And eventually she may like to take a part time job somewhere!

hey guys, it's mel that mod responsible for the legend that is Linda and her blondies, and today i bring you all... a bird.

or to be more specific i'm bringing you Tobias from the scholastic ya book series Animorphs. for anyone not familiar with the series it's about a couple of kids who have to fight an invading alien parasite using only their wits, desperation, and the ability to morph into various animals.

tobias himself got stuck in the morph of a red-tailed hawk pretty early in the adventure, and though he eventually got his ability morph back he kind of............. likes being a bird better. and it's not like anyone in his old life even noticed he was gone.

anyway, tobias won't remember anything about the yeerks for awhile, because knowing about a parasitic alien invasion and having no idea who to trust kind of makes for a bad rp experience. when he's a bird he can communicate via something basically like telepathy, and he can take human form for 2 hours at a time he's just not a big fan of it.

he's not the most social of birds normally but considering none of his friends he usually talks to are in town right now he might be just a little more ready to make new friends than he normally is. he's sort of a dreamy kid, sort of a jaded one, and honestly really in need of a hug.

however you hug a bird, anyway.

hey, beloved pinecones, this is jeeps (mod and player of that troublemaker steve rogers), crawling tiredly toward y'all with another cevans face, in that grand and shameless tradition of the pines, frank adler from gifted. frank is just a regular dude raising his math genius niece mary, though before that he was a philosophy professor at boston u. now he fixes boats. it's a whole thing. he's technically a florida man but not like. a florida man, if you catch my meaning. he's been described in canon as the "quiet damaged hot guy" and has some of the backstory to make that legit, though he mostly keeps his head down when he can. (when he can't, it's usually because of mary.) he doesn't have much of a life but he does have a ritual of dropping mary off with the sitter for friday nights/saturday mornings to ~~bang~~ have his frank time, a tradition he will be keeping alive and well in wayward pines and which i hope to use to facilitate ~~banging~~ cr. (seriously though he needs friends. and sleep. he's so tired.) he'll probably be found at the bar weekly.

ever wanted to know what happens when you sell your soul to an ancient dragon god from before the beginning of time? no? well too bad, cuz sarra is here to tell you. what happens is you gain a little bit more power, a telepathic connection to your soul's new owner, and a whole lot of trouble.

Sooooo apparently I can't spend a month in this game without apping someone. Currently playing Randal Oland, Kal "Clark" Kent, Scott Summers... and now, Thomas Raith, from The Dresden Files books. AKA, the ones about a wizard named Harry. No, the other ones.

Thomas, here, is said wizard's (secret) brother, an incubus for all intents and purposes with a heart of slightly dented silver. Part of that is a supernatural allure, as you might expect, which canonically works on anyone who is not 1. in love or 2. has the lingering touch of love on them, but because RP is all about not being a jerk, he has an op-in page here for being affected by it. Otherwise, he's just an Exceptionally Hot Dude. ^_^ Anyway, he's going to be taking the role of hairdresser, a former prom king married to his high school sweetheart (hi Justine) but otherwise, his false memories are pretty open.

He could definitely use some sisters, a brother, I'll happily take a father or mother who isn't terrible, and the slots for fuckbuddies and friends are wide open, as are clients!
