WELCOME TO THE PINES!


And welcome to our monthly out-of-character intro post. Come say hello to your fellow players and drop a line here so others can get to know you and find out the best ways to contact you, as well as see who you are bringing in! (Current players are also encouraged to use this post to let us know about new characters.)

Don't forget to check out this month's important dates for a peek at what the coming month is going to look like. It will continue to be updated as more dates solidify behind the scenes, especially regarding May's event(s).

Our in-character intro log will be going up May 1st after midnight EST; keep an eye on our mod plurk (thepines) for that as well as all future announcements.

Hello! Alec knows he doesn't have family in Pines (but we're always hopeful) but if you're interested in other memories for Poe...

HMMM. More recent memories, definitely! Era and I were talking about Poe being recently discharged from the Navy in false memories, and moving to Pines because his cousin was there.

How old is Alec/what's his job?

Alec is 18 years old. In false memories he ran away from his family in New York because his parents didn't like his choice of relationships. So obviously running away and marrying the guy they hate is the best option. Pines is the first place that they felt welcome so they stayed there and Alec opened a record store.

He also is trained for combat even if he doesn't really understand why false memories wise. Eventually he's going to start self-defense classes above the shop so that he can teach and keep up his skills.

I just checked the housing list and they're neighbors. Alec needs to warn him about the topiary...

MY SECOND PERSON IS IN, Sharon Cater, MCU flavor. She's going to be coming in with very few memories, knowledge of a life growing up in Wayward Pines, and distrust of literally everything and everyone.

She'll be hiding that distrust very effectively behind a facade of friendliness while she plays the part of Wayward Pines nurse and tries to figure out wtf is going on and who tf she is.

Since she's "lived" in Wayward Pines her whole life, according to memory, I'm open to CR memories if anyone is so inclined!

poe should definitely alex's fake uncle who is not dead, i need this desperately and alex desperately needs some family that isn't, you know, dead. even fake family.

well alex is a 15 year old spy that's gone on almost a dozen (near suicide) missions for various agencies since he was 14, though he works predominantly with MI6.

he's also an unwilling 15 year old spy because MI6 is basically blackmailing him by threatening to put him into child services (and honestly sort of insinuating they wouldn't try all that hard to make sure he was placed somewhere nice) since his MI6 spy uncle was killed shortly after he was 14 and his MI6 spy parents were killed when he was a baby and he has no other family to speak of (outside of a godfather who was responsible for his parents dying to yeah maybe not a good option there).

he went through his teenage rebellion period by temporarily joining a terrorist organization but had a disagreement with them in the form of his unwillingness to purposefully kill people (he's accidentally killed plenty of people, but shhhhh, he's a kid, consequences for actions are kind of still an iffy thing for him).

at this point in his canon he's seriously DONE with MI6 and their nonsense but he doesn't exactly have a lot of control over his own life so there's a lot of hopeless anger and helplessness in the world he's stuck in BUT.

currently he has absolutely 0 memories of being a spy so he's basically just this apparently accident prone schoolboy who is friendly enough, far too curious for his own good, polite, does well in school, but really can't abide bullies (his first day at a new school and they thought because he spoke softly and came from upper middle class that he was an easy target and he legit beat all of them up and made them stop picking on other kids too).
