( march event ) mad skillz

Hey there, Pinecones! It's slightly past time for March's first event write-up. This one's pretty simple, but we think you'll have fun with it.

( ! ) An important heads-up! Based on the feedback we've gotten, we'll be doing a single catch-all log for this event, as well as the storm on the 16th and the St. Patty's Day festival on the 17th. Players looking to participate in any of these happenings are welcomed to utilize the catch-alls for their threading needs.

Now, on to the event!

MAD SKILLZ

CR EVENT: Skills Fair
EVENT DATE: March 11th

If pressed, the first murmurings of some kind of "skills fair" can be traced as far back as Monday, mid-day. Those visiting Main Street on that chilly afternoon might have heard it in passing, on the lips of long-term residents in a chipper tone. It's much more likely, however, that you learned of it first thing Thursday morning, when bright yellow flyers graced mailboxes and shop windows alike.

Come to the park off Alder and 3rd, it said, for Wayward Pines's seasonal Skills Fair. Share your skills! Teach what you know to others, and let others teach you new skills in return. What better way to foster a sense of community than to teach one another? According to the flyer, the Skills Fair spans from 11 AM to 5 PM. Booths and tents will be available to teach from, free of charge.

Those who head to the specified park on March 11th get just what it says on the box: A genuine opportunity to teach others the skills you know and to learn the skills others are teaching. Even such things as combat training or target practice are allowed, though it's requested that those looking to teach how to shoot please escort their pupils to a designated makeshift shooting range two blocks north on the edge of town.

And keep in mind, above all else, that the bylaws on the Official Notice still apply. Do not talk about the past. Do not talk about where you're from. Do not tell anyone where you learned these skills.

Someone might be listening.

Rachel will be offering up self-defense lessons, both to help people and to hopefully snag a job as security (she is trying to avoid going into retail work like her life depends on it okay). While she doesn't have her spaltgun yet, she does have a black belt in martial arts and has done more on the job training in self defense. So anyone looking to protect themselves, or hire someone else to protect their butts, hit a girl up.
