This is an out-of-character intro post. Come say hello to your fellow players and drop a line here so people can get to know you and find out the best ways to contact you, as well as see who you are bringing in!

Don't forget to check out this month's important dates for a peek at what the first month is going to look like. They'll be updated more dates solidify behind the scenes, especially regarding February's event(s).

Noah Czerny | The Raven Cycle

Hello! I'm Sammy! How's everybody doing tonight? :)

From the book series about magical forests, rich teenage boys, and sleeping Welsh kings, I am bringing resident Ghost Thing Noah Czerny from The Raven Cycle! The most important thing to know about Noah? Even though he looks like your average smudgy 17-year-old, he's really been dead for seven years. What does that mean? That he frequently disappears/reappears at random, he sometimes isn't all the way there (yeah, sometimes he looks a little more... ghostly than others.), he exists at a constant temperature known as freezing, and every now and then he -- unknowingly so -- eavesdrops on the thoughts of others. (As far as he can tell they were said out loud, but he missed the part that involved a mouth moving.)

As far as the whole listening in on thoughts goes, if you'd rather that he not, then don't hesitate to give me a heads up. No hard feelings whatsoever! :)

i started listening to the first raven cycle book last fall and then just sorta stopped for some honestly unknown reason because it's a fantastic series. which means that i did not get to learn a whole lot about noah just yet, but i'm excited to see one around!

can't wait to play with you!

octopuses are also p great. A+ choice.

it's a really good series! Admittedly a little slow at the beginning, but once it picks up, it really doesn't slow down until the end. I actually really want to give listening to it a try. i think i've heard good things about the audiobook??? (my memory is the worst, i might be wrong lol. Noah's not expanded on as much as the other characters (we hardly see his POV, it's kind of a shame :( ), but he's one of my favorites. cute smudgy kid. I'm excited about playing him

i would say that you probably heard pretty positive things about the audiobook series. the narrator they chose is A+. he has a nice twang for an accent that really helps bring the setting to life, and while he doesn't do voices for people exactly, he still talks in v distinctive ways for each of the characters. i just really dug it so much. it was great listening to on my commutes.

that's a shame about noah tho! >:c trc has such a wicked awesome cast of characters that i'd wanna hear just as much from him as everybody else.

yes! that sounds about right! i remember reading that the narrator choice was really good! i might have to do some digging around and see if i can locate a copy.

yeah :( i mean, you still get a good sense of him and learn about who he is, but it's just... through all the other characters in the book for the most part. really a little more of his pov wouldn't have hurt anyone.

worst comes to worst, you rig the audible game like i did if you haven't signed up for it at all. they give you two free when you sign up, and then when you try to discontinue they give you like 3 months for half-off or something like that? and then you just do one full month, and then you cancel again and they're like BUT WAIT... and throw one more free one at you. the second you collect, unsubscribe.

basically, i barely paid anything at all to get the whole series + a couple other books.

yeah. i feel like tho even when you've got a number of perspectives on a character, you still miss out a little bit on something when you don't hear from the character themselves.

The jokes are especially vital to the research.

i have not a single worry!!! treat teenage ghosts the way you'd want to be treated as a teenage ghost, what could possibly go wrong there??? 8D

Hi Sammy! In canon, it's shown that vampires in The Vampire Diaries can have their thoughts be read by certain - shall we call them, abominations of nature!! (Damon's has a grudge.) So I'm OK with him picking up on snippets here and there.

Also, I did this backwards. I'm Brandon, and excited to be here. This is Damon Salvatore from TVD, or the vampire diaries!

If he's trying to not be read, Damon could probably prevent him, by focusing on a powerful memory. He's been shown in the current season to defy it. But idle thought should be able to float out. (LOLOL) The abomination was his brother's shadow self. So. Long story.

Hey Sammy, I'm Ty! I haven't quite finished the first book of TRC yet, but Noah is firmly my second-favorite character so I'm excited to see one here. :D I play 10K here, and Noah's welcome to pick up on his thoughts, which will probably mostly involve things like bits of his dad's survivalist training/government conspiracy theories, tactical positions and defense in perfectly respectable public areas.
