This is an out-of-character intro post. Come say hello to your fellow players and drop a line here so people can get to know you and find out the best ways to contact you, as well as see who you are bringing in!

Don't forget to check out this month's important dates for a peek at what the first month is going to look like. They'll be updated more dates solidify behind the scenes, especially regarding February's event(s).

Our in-character intro log will be going up just after midnight EST, keep an eye on our mod plurk (thepines) for that and a very important poll before the end of the day.

Hi everyone! I'm Gwiggs, one of the mods here in the Pines, and I'll be bringing in my original character Corstine.

I'm having some technical difficulties with my laptop at the moment (it chose today of all days for the screen to completely die) so I can't post the info to her journal that I wanted to. But the gist of her character is that she's a bandit leader who lucked into finding a magic artifact that allows her to control dire rats.

Since then, she's been leading an army of ruffians and rats the size of pickup trucks around the countryside of her homeland, gathering a following of other bandit gangs and crushing all who oppose her.

The catch is that if she doesnt play her flute every 4-5 hours the spell wears off and the giant rats all start to lose their shit - which means she hasn't gotten a full night's rest in well over a year.

She's crass and angry and sleep deprived to the point that she sometimes hallucinate and she's somehow managed to unify her anarchist husk of a nation into some sort of bastardized version of the mongol hoard but with giant rats and hooligans. It's a trip.


ANYWAY she's going to be a very abrasive neighbor. I'm very excited to see her interact with the lovely, colorful bunch of characters we've gathered in this game - and I'm even more excited to be your moderator in the coming months!

Thank you! I love writing them, and this is the first time in a long time that I've actually brought one into a game, so I'm very hopeful and excited to see how she fares.

I probably could have brought in a couple, but I decided against it. She'll have to make due with the few regular sized ones in Wayward Pines.

Her world doesn't have a pied piper fable, so not any yet.

She's about to get a WHOLE BUNCH, though, I imagine.

Thank you!! She'd be absolutely insufferable if she had her dire rats. It'd be the worst.

Instead she's just going to end up with a handful of regular sized ones that she collects throughout town. How the mighty have fallen.

For the record, they're the size of pickup trucks on average - she actually has one that she'd named Galleon on account of the fact that he was the size of a large sailing vessel.

They're all pretty cute when they're not being used as instruments of war. Corstine has very mixed feelings about them.

Man, this is such a cool concept! I'm a big fan of the Pied Piper mythos so I can't wait to see what she does here :D And as a mod, thanks for having me!

And no problem! I'm not familiar with 10k's canon, but your app was great and I know a few people were really excited to learn that he was being apped. I look forward to seeing him in the game, and learning more about him!

His canon is one of those glorious things that emerges from the depths of SyFy every now and again. I won't pretend it's the best thing ever but it's definitely fun--and I'm a sucker for a good apocalypse.

Sorry, there ain't no rest for the wicked - one of her few memories from home was the fact that she needs to play her flute every few hours or she'll die a horrible death.

Meaning that she can't sleep for more than a couple hours at a time without waking up in a fit of panic. She's gonna be a sleepy girl for a long time, I'm afraid.

Thank you, though! I'm rather fond of her backstory, so I'm glad other people are getting into it as well.

Yeah that was basically my reaction too. I've been stuck on my phone for the last two days, and it's not very convenient, lemme tell you.

I'm glad you dig her, btw! I'm pretty excited to throw her into the game.

I'm not familiar with the Jojos myself, but your app was very thorough and it gave me a pretty good idea about what Pucci is like. I'm excited to see him in the game!
