This is an out-of-character intro post. Come say hello to your fellow players and drop a line here so people can get to know you and find out the best ways to contact you, as well as see who you are bringing in!

Don't forget to check out this month's important dates for a peek at what the first month is going to look like. They'll be updated more dates solidify behind the scenes, especially regarding February's event(s).

Our in-character intro log will be going up just after midnight EST, keep an eye on our mod plurk (thepines) for that and a very important poll before the end of the day.

The Griffin | The Griffin and the Minor Canon

Yo! I'm Gray, aka a weirdo who likes to play from obscure short stories and children's books. You can find me on plurk at graygriffin

Anyways, this guy here is from a short story by Frank Stockton, aka the guy who wrote The Lady and the Tiger. The whole thing is available online for anyone who wants to look it up, but in short, he's a man-eating beast with morals about just who he eats. It's just that his morals are to only eat those he becomes fond of. Still, if you're on his good side and you've got good cooking skills he'll probably accept your offering. He's also coming in after the end of the story, when he's voluntarily starved to death because he felt the one person he'd grown fond of deserved better.

As you might be able to tell, there's probably going to be a lot of issues with his CR and how he might end up interacting with them, so I have a permissions post up for him!

Haha, yup! The original story is apparently meant to sort of be satire, but quite frankly I just think the Griffin is a fascinating monster/character in general.

I mean, it's going to be six months until he starts getting hungry again, probably! Still, probably a good idea to start stocking up on food if you're gonna befriend him.

(I just find his somewhat slanted morality really fascinating to play.)

The description of this story sounds really fascinating, and I'm definitely going to go look for it :D Hi, I'm Ty and I play 10K here, who is no stranger to friendly faces who may or may not want to eat your brains. Hi, Gray! I'm Erin, and it's nice to meet you. I'm bringing in Malia Tate from Teen Wolf who...would give this ~creature~ you've got there several weird looks that I'm sure you expect from most.

ANYWAY, I am unfamiliar with his story, but think it's awesome that you play such characters! I love 'em. I'll be filling out the permission post you have for him, too.
