WELCOME TO THE PINES!


And welcome to our monthly out-of-character intro post. Come say hello to your fellow players and drop a line here so others can get to know you and find out the best ways to contact you, as well as see who you are bringing in! (Current players are also encouraged to use this post to let us know about new characters.)

Don't forget to check out this month's important dates for a peek at what the coming month is going to look like. It will continue to be updated as more dates solidify behind the scenes, especially regarding June's event(s).

Our in-character intro log will be going up June 1st after midnight EST; keep an eye on our mod plurk (thepines) for that as well as all future announcements.

Hi! I'm Leah and I'm new here....and bringing in Anders from Dragon Age: Awakening!



Though I'm using a PB cos. Look at that potato. Great game but the graphics are 100% potato.

Anders shows up again a lot more depressed and visibly angry in Dragon Age 2, but right now he's just a 29 year old dude hiding his issues by avoiding them and constantly joking about them. In canon, Anders is a mage, and in his canon mages get kept in mage Circles and guarded by Templars for what is supposed to be everyone's safety. But of course, like everything, it's more complicated than that.

Anders hates it and runs away constantly, which should prove fairly interesting here, eventually, what with his utter disdain for authority.

The AU stuff I've got for him so far is on his journal, but it basically boils down to that he's a local dude who immigrated from England at 12, left again later to get his degree at a university, and came back to Wayward Pines to do nothing with them and work at Thistle Do Nicely. He's actually going to find out that he's ended up the manager while he was "in recovery", and thanks to him being a Spirit Healer, the whole thing is going to become a lot more of a Magic Shop than it was before.

I'm open to setting up various kinds of relationship AUs as I don't have anything there yet, though you should know that he's easy, a massive flirt, and afraid of commitment, so it's unlikely he's had anything long term romantic. He's also a lapsed Catholic in the AU (for old church buddies) a regular volunteer at the animal shelter (dude loves cats), and low-key into guerrilla gardening.

HOW COULD I JUDGE YOU, HI ERA. I'm excited too! Is AU Cassian still a Catholic? I have still not seen Rogue One, so I am relying on you for the kind of person Cassian is. Would he have been good at church or as fidgety as Anders was by the time he moved to Pines?

Awesommmeee Anders absolutely tried to make Cassian laugh in church. Especially if they were ever altar boys at the same time. Anders is like...what he is in canon, kinda. Still pretty definitely believes in God and Christ but objects to organised religion.

Omg hello, I'm only familiar with Anders via RP osmosis and DAI but I feel like there are so many mages/mutants parallels that Pietro would probably almost be ok with blowing up a chantry so i mean. They should be friends is all I'm saying.

HAHA I have. Uh. I've often joked that DA2 Anders is the Erik of Dragon Age so. Yes, I agree. Do you want to work out interaction memories? Anders would love to be a bad influence on a teen.

Yesss that'd be rad. Pietro is Cassian's little brother, so they could have met that way maybe? He's pretty intensely anti-authority and doesn't have any anti-authority friends, so I can see him latching on to Anders. Maybe he comes by the flower shop occasionally to complain about some cop being friends with his sister. 8[

Oh, I really like that. Anders will be a terrigreat influence for sure, and that totally makes sense as a connecting factor.

BELATED HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE GAME! I'm Ros, with Bucky Barnes (MCU) and Jefferson (OUAT) and sort of maybe Chase Collins (The Covenant) though I may be dropping him soon-- ANYWAY. I was wondering if you'd be interested in any false memories between Jefferson and Anders, since 1) he'd definitely frequent the shop and 2) idk they just seem like they'd have interesting CR in general.

I would definitely be interested in false memories! I've been having trouble coming up with particular things but I am definitely willing to try. Anders is definitely someone to chat when he's meant to be working, so if Jefferson frequents the shop they are friends at the very least.
