false memory plotting repository

Welcome to the Wayward Pines false memory plotting repository!
What's that, you ask? Well, it's essentially a dump for false memory plotting from this point forward - kind of like a CR meme for false memories, except this post will be pinned to the OOC comm, and will be linked in every OOC intro. There is no such thing as 'too late' to this meme!
How do false memories work in The Pines?
Strangely enough, as new characters begin to regain their memories, they also “regain” memories of life here in Wayward Pines. Maybe they rode their bike down this street as a kid. Maybe that park was where they had their first kiss. Almost unanimously pleasant, these memories are entirely at odds with everything your character knows (or thinks they know) about the life they led before Wayward Pines, but at the same time, these memories feel so real. Seeing the objects or people featured in the memories gives your character that same warm nostalgic feeling they’d feel if the events they’re remembering actually happened.
As new characters arrive, veteran characters can simply 'remember' false memories with those new characters, with the general IC feeling that they'd always been there but only now came to the surface.
For more info on the false memories mechanic, be sure to check out our FAQ!
How do I use this page?
It's simple: Create a top-level for each of your characters (or a collective top-level for all of them). Others reply to your top-level if they want to plot false memories with you. Alternatively, you reply to others' top-levels for the same reason! Think of it like a neverending CR meme specifically dedicated to cozy suburban memory-fuckery.
Things you might consider including, if they strike your fancy:
We strongly recommend putting the info in a post on your character's journal and linking that post here rather than putting the info right in your top-level. That way you can edit and update that information as needed, as your top-level can't be edited once it's replied to!

Things you might consider including, if they strike your fancy:
- A blurb about your character's fake-life (as sparse or as detailed as you'd like).
- A summary or list of the false-memory CR you've plotted out so far.
- A false memories 'wish list'.
- False memories preferences, if you have any. (For example: "Only looking for positive false-memory CR right now!")
We strongly recommend putting the info in a post on your character's journal and linking that post here rather than putting the info right in your top-level. That way you can edit and update that information as needed, as your top-level can't be edited once it's replied to!

And Jon has ghosts of monsters so. Theeeere's that.

i admittedly cannot rectify with myself the concept of klaus actually attending college at any point in his life but hanging around college areas for parties, yeah i can see. and i'm definitely down for couch surfing at jon's place randomly despite actually having his own place.
eh. his favorite bother had monsters in his stomach, he'll deal.

And yeah, that's kinda what I figure: Jon was that loner kid who nonetheless would probably buy a cheap meal or at least some chips for random stoner dude, bounced ideas off of him late at night or whenever, and then like... only realized after like a year or so that Klaus wasn't actually a student.
...technically Jon is also a kind of monster so... there's that!

listen, i love all of this. the one time jon actually bothered to ask klaus what he was studying klaus said some bullshit like "body chemistry" and probably winked so hard he fell off a bar stool.
i hope there are tentacles involved, it'll feel just like home

He MIGHT be full of eyes, though. This is like, 90% possible.
Jon just kind of watched him fall off the stool, sighed, and then helped pick him up.
I feel like Klaus is one of the only people who has seen him like absolutely plastered at one point, possibly one day when he thought Georgie was going to break up with him or something, and then it turned out not and he swore him to secrecy forever.

............................. is he heimdallr???
klaus has never told anyone, dead or alive. he takes promises seriously because so few people bother to actually ask him in the first place.

And God, Jon will be a great notactuallystraight!man for Klaus. He's really kind of ridiculous. Other things, he just goes along with.
Like, he'd never really give Klaus anything about the seeing ghosts stuff or doubt him after a certain point. Just kind of accept and continue.

Klaus will probably have to deal with Jon's own brand of weird sometimes. Like randomly knowing things he has no way of knowing.
