Nobody is present at the house when they come a-knocking, and looking inside, it looks clean but lived-in. The only suspicious thing, necessarily, is the number of drawers or cupboards left cracked or open. Whether that was Dennis's doing or not, it's anyone's guess...
The mail in his box are largely spam, though there's a letter left by the sheriff's office asking Dennis to drop by if he gets his mail, to let them know he's at least okay. It seems to have been delivered after he went missing.
The front porch smells... like a porch. There's a hint of cat, especially strong just underneath the side of the porch (maybe Smokey liked to lay there?), and-
What's that? The tiniest, faintest smell of blood, almost like the little patch on the kitty's chest. It seems to be coming from under the porch.
