It does indeed smell too much like the the mess to get any real trace of anything else.

She's welcome to crack it open, but it would probably just be easier to turn it over and look in the hollow end. The cap that sealed it can probably be found elsewhere in the meat of the arm. Whatever was in the bullet before, if anything, is long gone by now.
