Seeing as he's confident in his immortality, he'd wave them off. Especially since it doesn't look like being eaten inhibits his healing at all or anything. They can insist, or try to enlist a PC to jab him anyway tbh, but he's stubborn enough about not needing to take up anyone else's time over something like that.
